Bathing Ritual
Installation (2018)

The Floating University was “a temporary experimental inner-city offshore laboratory for collective, experimental learning,” situated at the rainwater retention pool of the former Tempelhof Airport in Berlin. At the heart of the site was the auditorium and bath area, which was viewed as the ultimate celebration of water, and the culmination of everything which happens at the Floating University site. The group developed a totemic heating column, which heated the water using a wood fire for a relaxing communal and social foot bath, designed as a space for a pre-ritual for evening activities within the larger auditorium space.

This project was produced as part of a field trip to the Floating University, a project by Raumlabor.
